Abstract:
This paper gives a close reading of Dr. PetarKonstantinov’s fiction novel “Avenue Foch” (1993) – a chronicleofthelifesuccessesandadversitiesof a youngpainterinSofiainthe 1980s, – throughtheprismoftheaestheticandvalueaspectsoftheprotagonist‘sworldview. Theexpositionconsecutivelyfixeson ’AvenueFosch’asanallegoryofthe peaksinhumancultureintheiraxiologicalambivalence; onportrayingthepersonalityoftheyoungpainterthroughhisrelationshipswiththeclosestones inhisenvironment; onone’soriginalmotivesto choose –or,ratherrealizeandaccept–one’sfateas a creatorbybirth; ontheinsuperabilityinthischoiceandthisfate.
